Fragrances

There comes a time in a young girl's life when...oh who am I kidding? Here's the gist: Natalie needs some new perfume. It's that time of year and as much as I love my classic Chanel N 5, I'm ready for something different, for now at least. What I need is suggestions from everybody on what kind I should buy. And I know, many of you will be like "Make your own decision" but I am just interested in what everyone's favorite perfume is. So, your questions are:

1. What is your all time favorite perfume?

2. Of the three new fragrances below, have you wiffed on? If yes, what was your intial reaction/thoughts?

I love Marc, but I was a little skeptical when I saw this ad. But, it definately intrigued me and I am excited to sample it.
Gwen is so original so I think that this scent will be very fun, light, and very...Gwen.

Ok, now your probably like "What the hell, why is this on here?" Well, honestly, I just really like the commercial alot, so I put it up here for kicks. Has anyone smelled it yet? Is it actually nice?

Fashions fade...

"Fashions fade, only style remains the same."
-Coco

I love her, she's such an inspiration to so many girls, and I just adore her. And I think that this quote brought up a great point. It frustrates me SO much when girls think they have this amazing style because they've got all designer clothes or where they copy and outfit straight out of a catalog and call it style. It just irks me like no other, I think that style should be based on what you come up with. For example, I buy over half of my clothing from consignment stores, and buy the occasional Marc Jacobs piece (seeing as I'm on a tight budget...tehe). Anyway, I guess I'm just venting, but am I alone on this one? Does anyone agree?

What do you think?

Well, I need some back-to-school purchases(i.e. coat, bag, etc.). I've come up with two splurge items that I really like and I want everyone's opinoun and whether or not you think they are worth the splurge. I know some of you can probably actually afford YSL (I wish!) But I am a strictly occasional splurge girl, everything else on sale. :)
I don't know if it's just me, but I ADORE THIS COAT! And I wear a ton of black (not gothic black, sleek black) and I think it's just adorable. It's about $498. What do you guys think?

This tote for books. To perfect, very simple will go with everything. I think it's extremely chic and kinda dusty. I just realyl like it in general. It's about $398.
Thanks girls for your fabulous fashion advice!

Coco Rocha

I think of all the models out there, Coco Rocha is definately one of my favorites, if not my favorite. I think she is so beautiful and I'm so envious of her! I have three goals in life: to learn how to do the moonwalk, marry Michael Jackson, and get Coco Rocha's figure. Isn't this picture of her beautiful?

Now that I have thoroughly made myself out to be a lesbian, my second part of my entry. I need to subscribe to all my magazines. I've always been an "off the stands" girl, but it's putting a whole in my pocket. Today, I got the new VOGUE and Harper's Bazaar, guess how much it cost me? $10.02! I don't have that kind of money...that's like an hour at my job. So, I think I am giving in offically and subscribing to my magazines. I'm such a dork...:)

The House of Gucci

My new book came in the mail on Gucci. I just finished the one on Chanel and I'm very excited for this new one. I've read the first couple of pages and it's very well written. I'm excited!

Coco Chanel

I'm currently reading a novel about her and I can't put it down! Her life is so so so so interesting to read about and to study. I know there are alot of books on her out there, so I'm not going to recommend the one that I am reading because I don't think it is written very well, but if you're looking for some outisde reading for school or if you're just a book worm, I definately recommend looking into her as a topic of interest.

Fashion Week

I know it's way to early to start thinking about Spring Fashion Week...but here I am, so excited I could pee my pants! Exactly 30 days until London Fashion week, which is probably the least regonized, seeing as it is not part of The Trio, but I still like it quite alot. Like Marc Jacob's show there last year...loved it. He always does such great work. I know they call Lagerfeld the King, but I personally am more of a MJ fan. Though, Lagerfeld is the king and I am in no way demeening his kingness. He's a Greek God, except French. His life must be terribly interesting...if I could switch lives with any living person it would probably be either him or Michael Jackson. And I would only be him so I could know if I was a child molestor or not and could ride all of the rides at Neverland. :)

Back-to-school shopping

The week before school starts is probably my least favorite week of all time. And I think you all know why. Now, as much as shopping for pens and paper thrills me, there is also that whole closet inventory thing, numerous trips to the dry cleaners, and let's not forget actually dreading the fact that in a couple of days, your summer, the one time you feel at least somewhat unstressed and free, will come to an end and your days will be filled with tedious reading assignments and hours of homework. Joy. I can't wait, really. But, this year, I at least have something to look foward to. I've been working all summer long very long hours and haven't spent a penny of it (it's all gone straight to the bank). And now I have a small fortune that I get to go blow on fedoras, knits, beanies, wedges, boots, and not to mention that BCBG chunky sweater I have had my eye on for quite some time now.

Her and I share the same figure...I WISH!

The Pressure to be Sexy

Once again, I have another teenVOGUE post. It's not that I'm obssesed or anything, but I literally tore that thing up yesturday (long drive home from a vacation...why couldn't we just fly?). Anyway, I read that thing so many times and an article by Eva Chen really caught my attention. I've had this theory and have been noticing it more and more lately, but it is so true: What is up with the media and celebrites trying to make all teens become these huge sex-symbols? I mean, let's take Hilary Duff for instance. She's always been the nice, sweet girl with nice songs like "Sweet Sixteen" and has been a Disney Princess for as long as I can remember. So, what was up with her on the cover of that magazine the other day with the tag-line "sex symbol"? Come on girls, let's face it: To survive in this world (and this world being Hollywood), we girls are told we have to be sexy to fit in. Well, I feel there is a fine (and I mean fine) line between Sexy, and Sleazy. To all the girls out there that can embrace there inner sex goddess with out looking like a trashy whore, kudos to you. : )

They look like total strippers. And, if anyone is strippers out there, I completey understand and I am in no way trying to dis you. But seriously...this is what we're supposed to look up to? COME ON!

Alright, I PROMISE this is my last teenVOGUE obssesed entry and I will begin to get my ideas for entries from other sources besides the fashion magazine from the gods.

Zac Efron and Nikki Blonsky?!

Now, I am trying to stick with fashion and fashion only on this blog, but when I heard this, I was in complete shock. I've never really read a tabloid or People or US or any of those, but yesturday in my 20 hour car ride home (yes, 20 hours!) I was getting a little bored so I started to flip through my sisters People. And what I saw, well, I found it very hard to believe. A complete story about the couple and a picture of them kissing! I've never been a die-hard Zac Efron fan, but has anyone heard anything about this, or is just a fact tabloid story I should disregard?

Anne Hathaway on the cover of teenVOGUE

Now, I am a complete and total teenVOGUE addict, but lately, I've become a tad upset with their cover choices. But, when I saw the Septemeber issue in my mailbox to find Anne Hathaway on the cover, I was thrilled. I've been a long-time fan of Anne ever since I first saw her in Princess Diaries. What I like about her is that she's not some tabloid sex-symbol junkie, who is seen getting drunk every night and having to go rehab every other month. She's actually a person in Hollywood that we girls can, gasp, look up to! She's so beautiful, classy, and extremely talented. Kudos to you, teenVOGUE.

My favorite movie of all time (Of course!) The Devil Wears Prada. Doesn't she look ultra chic?
And here's a picture of her on the cover of teenVOGUE. I loved her shoot, it had such a Russian feel. Ah, I cannot wait until fall gets here (it's by far my favorite season, fashion wise).

Chanel Haute Couture and Monte Carlo

Raquel looking absolutely gorgeous here at the Chanel Haute Couture. I don't know about anyone else, but this fall when I say the Chanel Monte Carlo collection, I fell in love. I'm usually not a huge Chanel fan, but this year was amazing. I also like the Couture collection, but I think that I liked Monte Carlo more. Which one did you like better and what fall collections were your favorite?

My first post!

My first post! Yay! My name is Natalie, and I currently reside in a certain city (ehm ehm trying to conceal some information!) that I absolutely adore. I'm 15 years old, and I'm a total fashion nerd! I just recently got an internship with a local cosmetics company and I hope to some work at VOGUE or Harper's Bazaar or teenVOGUE. But, unfortunately, I have no one to rant with about fashion (everyone at my school thinks that hollister totes are high fashion...pulease). Anyway, so here goes nothing! I hope there are some other fashionistas out there I can talk with about the latest trends, and I hope everyone likes my blog! : )
